Climbing plants come in many shapes and sizes and for different purposes.

Various creepers: The grape, clematis, laburnum, wisteria, Virginia creeper, sweet pea, honeysuckle, Passiflora.

The climbing plant itself has a thin stam and therefor is not able to support itself. It has to be secured through a fence or a rack which has been assembled to your house.

There are various ways to do this.

Climbing plant food contains extra potassium which ensures the robustness of the plant, magnesium gives the nice dark green color to the leaves.Climbing plants need to be provided with nutrients from March until June and in August.

Most climbing plants require solid pruning. The timing is important. Early flowering species that bloom in May and June should preferably be pruned immediately after flowering. This due to the fact that in the second half of the summer the flower buds for the next season are created.

Species that bloom at a later stage are best to be pruned in the spring.

These species often form their flowerbuds during springtime.
